Chocolate Sheet Cake

Ingredients:v

Cake:

  • 2 C sugar
  • 2 C flour
  • 4 T Cocoa
  • 1 C water
  • 1 Stick margarine or butter
  • 2 Eggs well beaten
  • 1/2 C buttermilk
  • 1 t soda
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1 t Cinnamon

Frosting:

  • 1 stick margarine or butter
  • 3 T cocoa
  • 6 T milk
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1/2 bag powdered sugar
  • 1/2 C pecans

Instructions:

  • Sift sugar and flour into mixing bowl.
  • Bring coca, water and butter just to boil and add to mixer and mix well.
  • Add eggs, buttermilk, soda, vanilla and cinnamon to mixer, stir well.
  • Pour into well greased sheet pan and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes
  • While cake bakes, prepare frosting.
  • Heat butter, cocoa and milk to JUST A BOIL.
  • Remove from heat and add, vanilla, powdered sugar and pecans. May need to add more powdered sugar to get desired consistency.
  • Remove cake from oven. You may frost immediately or wait about 15 minutes. Either way works.
